E-Commerce Leaders from Target Corp., 1-800-Flowers.com and reddit to Headline IRCE
Jason Goldberger, president of Target.com and Mobile Target Corp., Christopher McCann, president of 1-800- Flowers.com, Alexis Ohanian, co-founder and executive chairman of reddit, and James McQuivey, vice president and principal analyst of Forrester Research, will share their expertise and company stories, as well as their path to becoming leaders in the e-commerce field, at presentations delivered to an estimated 9,500 attendees at this year’s IRCE.

The first main day of presentations will kick off Wednesday at 8:30 am. with a keynote address from Jason Goldberger, president of Target.com and Mobile, Target Corp. Goldberger will discuss “Retail Revolution: How Digital is Transforming Target and Fueling the Future of Shopping.” Appointed president of Target.com in December 2014, Goldberger will share lessons learned along the retailer’s digital transformation journey and where he sees e-commerce heading. With channel-less shopping and personalization becoming the new norm, Goldberger will also explore how Target is creating a future where digital increasingly distinguishes best-in- class customer experiences — for shoppers both online and in stores.
At 9 am, special guest speaker Alexis Ohanian, co-founder and executive chairman of reddit, will take the main stage to present “The reddit Story – How the Front Page of the Internet Mobilizes for Positive Change. Now in its 10th year, reddit remains one of the most influential social news web sites and advocates of free speech, thanks to its devoted global community. Ohanian will trace the beginnings of what has become known as The Front Page of the Internet, how it has evolved and influenced mainstream media and where it is going next. Attendees will come away with an appreciation for what it means when “redditors” love a brand (and the consequences when they don’t), and how to interact with the community in ways to benefit your company.

Christopher McCann, president of 1-800-Flowers.com, will deliver the 8:15 am keynote presentation Thursday morning by exploring “Always Innovating: How an E-Commerce Industry Pillar Stays on Top.” E-commerce is now in its 20th year, and 1-800-Flowers.com is one of the longest-operating and most successful of e-retailers, a status it’s achieved by being one of the most forward-looking in its strategy and investments. McCann will discuss how a consistent willingness to innovate with emerging technology and by keeping in sync with changes in consumer behavior–as well as knowing when to move on from experiments that don’t perform– have been hallmarks of the company’s formula for online success. McCann will also discuss the company’s newest venture, featuring a new multi-brand web site that unites its many brands on one platform on both the consumer-facing side and back end, and a new multi-brand online loyalty program.
James McQuivey, vice president and principal analyst of Forrester Research, will present the featured address at 8:45 am, “The Internet of Things Means a Future Consumer Information Tsunami: Get Ready to Ride the Wave.” Once the stuff of comic books and sci-fi, web-enabled products and services are now here to stay — from Apple Watch to web-enabled smart kitchen and household appliances. In this session, attendees will see how smart products could reshape online marketing and selling, and learn what they can to do get ready for this next wave.
MORE THAN 200 SPEAKERS THROUGHOUT THE CONFERENCE
Following the keynote presentations and featured addresses during the General Sessions on Wednesday and Thursday, five concurrent breakout tracks featuring 70 sessions will continue for the remainder of each day. An additional 58 pre- and post-conference workshop sessions round out the agenda. More than 220 speakers from retail organizations, consumer services providers, technology firms, and more, will discuss a broad range of issues, trends and innovations in e-commerce.
On Wednesday educational breakout tracks will include Strategies for Top Executives, Retail Chains, Global E- Retailing, Small Retailers, and E-Marketing. Tracks on Thursday will include Fulfillment, Customer Service and Operations; Social Commerce and Marketing, Technology, Video in E-Retail, Design and Merchandising.
Pre-and-post conference all-day workshops will be offered on Tuesday, June 2, and Friday, June 5. Three concurrent workshops on Tuesday will include: Amazon and Me, E-Commerce Technology and a B2B Workshop. On Friday, three concurrent daylong workshops in Mobile Commerce, Search Marketing and Social will be offered.
